Troy and Becky Johnson began their miniature adventure in the summer of 2002. They purchased their first yearling stallion from a farm in Canon City, Colorado by the name of "Baney's Royal Miniatures". The palomeo "Baney's Royal Sunny" is proving to be quite a handful.
Before there were Mini's
Troy and Becky may be new to the miniature horse scene, but they are no strangers when it comes to dealing with race horses. Becky grew up surrounded by racing quarter horses. Her family spent 22 years training horses all over the country. Troy's interest started with saddle horses. In the winter of 1991 began exercising race horses for a friend of the families.
Splitting the Work
Troy and Becky have worked out a system for themselves so that everyone gets to have fun. Troy is in charge of training the horses for performance classes. Becky is in charge of keeping the horses fit and halter show ready. This seems to work well with sharing the work and each persons strengths being used efficently.
